Dear owners and friends,

In today's edition:

  • General horse updates

  • Importance of spelling well

  • Respecting Jockeys and Trainers

As you will see from the individual reports, racing is just around the corner, Woo Hoo.... I can honestly say that ALL our horses look in outstanding order. This is a result of excellent spelling conditions with the weather and lush grass. Plus, the fantastic attention to detail given by the staff at Thenford Farm, under the supervision of Will Forrester.

Not all horses spell well, including not putting on sufficient weight (not letting down) or looking dull in their coat. As for why horses don't let down well can be a mystery despite all the checks made on their welfare.

During pre-training, what I like the most is that every horse is treated as an individual and specific training given to suit their needs. E.g. more or less time under saddle, treadmill or water walker. Will has a very keen eye and determines very quickly as to what the horse needs in order to give them their best opportunities once back in the stable.

I would also like to quickly bring attention to the darker side of racing and the criticism that is rife in the industry targeting jockeys and trainers. Discussions at Rosehill with several trainers and jockeys brought light to the number of vile messages and threats, on many platforms when punters have obviously lost money. To me, this is totally unacceptable...... We all know the variables involved in winning a race. Everything has to go your way and everyone has a bad day here and there.

Trainers and jockeys who cover thousands of miles, all hours of the day and night are striving for success too, for all owners.

Please keep the Equicom spirit the way it is and maintain our levels of understanding, support and appreciation.

Final note, good luck to the owners in the horse offered by our friend a few months ago, Galway Fyler, 3yo, Unraced (name Boston Flyer N/A) he's had 2 sound trials under Team Waller and having a 5/6 weeks spell.

Previous Equicom horses in foal: All due around September 2025.

Mrs. Bigglesworth (Mum) - in foal to, Artorius (Dad)

Lady Brulee - in foal to, Wild Ruler

Brief Horse Updates:

Further to regular, individual owner WhatsApp messages.

Flying Crazy Inglis 6yo Gelding 🤪 trained by Team Hawkes, Rosehill - Summary: 34-5:1:5  Prizemoney incl. Bonus: $635,840

Crazy spelled well after his virus, that kept his last preparation short (2 runs) last time in. He is set for his second trial on Monday at Rosehill. Then hopefully to the races.

Altair I AM - MM 4yo Gelding ✨ trained by Team Hawkes, Rosehill - Summary: 7-1:2:0  Prizemoney: $71,250

Altair is back in pre training and has really strengthened up. We had some osteo work done on him which has really freed him up in his movements. Spending a bit more time on the treadmill rather that under saddle to help to cause.

Allapercanto (Swifty) 🐴 - Inglis 4yo Filly - Trained by Team Hawkes, Rosehill- Summary: 14-3:2:4    Prizemoney: $139,900

Swifty a prime example of a horse that didnt spell well last time in, however she looks an absolute picture of health right now. Due back to Rosehill later in the week i am very confident Team Hawkes will like what they see and have plenty to work with.

Lady Savannah - MM 3yo Filly - Trained by Team Hawkes, Rosehill - Summary: 5-1:0:0    Prizemoney: $35,725

Lady Sav has settled back in to the stables at Rosehill and is a consumate pro. Shes put on great condition and size to compliment her mental and physical ability moving forward. Approx 2/3 weeks off a trial.

Adeel It's a Steal (Dundeel x Stroak) - 3yo gelding Trained by Team Hawkes - Unraced

Adeel is set to trial on Monday at Rosehill. He's had a couple of very pleasing jump outs at home in readiness. Time has been his friend as he's now more mature and furnished well, there's more to come but expected to make the track in the coming weeks.

Bish
