FC also arrived back at Rosehill on Thursday 20 July. Always working backwards with our target races (group or /and Big Dance).

Crazy Russian, Inglis 3yo Gelding ‍️trained by Team Hawkes, Rosehill

CR had a trial at Rosehill today.  Asked to jump clean, settle and hit the line he and performed admirably. He will be looking to race in the coming 2 weeks over an initial distance of 1200m before stepping up.

Paballo - 3yo Gelding -  trained by James Moore, QLD

James has been monitoring him closely after a much-improved 4th at the Gold Coast before a well-deserved spell. Very much under notice he will need to perform well in his upcoming preparation and due to start pre training in 2 weeks.

Lady Brulee, MM 3yo Filly -  trained by Jake Hull - Gosford

Our miracle mare made significant improvement during her campaign and is now having a spell for approx. 2 more weeks.

Altair I AM - MM 2yo Gelding  trained by Team Hawkes, Rosehill

Altair is ticking all the boxes in the stable and will be looking for an inhouse jump out soon and likely trial on 11th August at Rosehill if not before.

Allapercanto (Swifty)  - Inglis 2yo Filly - Trained by Team Hawkes, Rosehill

She had her first trial back after a spell and needed just a bit more time so she went off to the water walker for low impact training. She is due back into the stables tomorrow  Again likely trial on 11th August.

Lady Savannah - MM 1yo Filly - Trained by Team Hawkes, Rosehill

We were hoping that she would be in pre training now but a sudden growth spurt has delayed her come back for a likely couple of weeks. Believe me this is a good thing, growing fast and strong.

Mrs Bigglesworth 3yo filly Trained by Jake Hull (small Equicom ownership group)

Mrs B will be heading to Bathurst or Tamworth in her final race of her successful campaign next week

JUNE 2023

I trust this update finds you well

Firstly, I would like to thank you all for your thoughts and wishes during a very testing time. I was moved by the level of support and understanding whilst I was in the UK. Thank you also to the team for maintaining the highest level of service and updates in my absence.

We have a very exciting time with the patience shown by all parties starting to come into fruition. It's all well and good expecting owners to allow the horses time to grow and mature and paying the bills but this is such an important key to longevity to our horses. NOW we have a very exiting stable with fit, strong horses hitting the tracks in the coming days, weeks and months.

Important date for your diaries, remember to invite your friends and families to all events:

Thursday 23rd (optional) and Friday 24th November, Bong Bong picnic races (Fri) and wine tour / golf day (Thu) - Equicom is proud to sponsor a race and entertain with the assistance of celebrity speakers, promoting women in sport and business. Final details are in motion and run sheet to be confirmed soon.

Finally, a couple of well written articles relating to prizemoney, that's why we race / own in Australia!!

Brief Horse Updates: Further to regular, individual owner WhatsApp messages.

Ruby Kisses MM 4yo Mare  trained by Team Hawkes, Rosehill

Ruby commences pre training on Monday 19th June at the farm in Bowral. I have never seen her so relaxed and comfortable when I saw her yesterday. She has a very exciting preparation in front of her. Ultimate target is the MM Syndicate race in January.

Flying Crazy Inglis 4yo Gelding  trained by Team Hawkes, Rosehill

FC also commences pre training on Monday 19th June at the farm in Bowral. He had an extra week in the paddock to allow him to enjoy the sunshine and better timing for an assault on the Spring racing. Always working backwards with our target races (group or /and Big Dance), he looks very well credentialled and ready to peak in his career.

Crazy Russian, Inglis 3yo Gelding ‍️trained by Team Hawkes, Rosehill

CR came back into the stables at Rosehill on Monday this week. After finishing his prep with hard fought racing, he will be in great order to make his way through the grades. He has grown and matured through his frame and more importantly grown up. This added maturity will hold him in good stread as we know he has the physical ability.

Paballo - 3yo Gelding -  trained by James Moore, QLD

James has continued extensive work on Pabs to help strengthen areas that were weak and been patient with him. He has had 2 races back to bring his fitness up to speed in a methodical manner and will be racing tomorrow at Warwick in QLD to hopefully break his maiden. Good luck owners.

Lady Brulee, MM 3yo Filly -  trained by Jake Hull - Gosford

Our special Lady has been brought up to speed with new trainer Jake Hull at Central Coast. This change in trainer was a mutual decision between Team Curtis and LB owners. She has relished the country lifestyle and had her second career race start at Gosford just over a week ago. The realistic goal was to hit the line hard as it was a bit short of her optimal distance and wow did, she do that.

LB will be nominated for Tamworth (Friday) and Newcastle (Saturday) next week and the best option selected once reviewed.

Altair I AM - MM 2yo Gelding  trained by Team Hawkes, Rosehill

Altair is now 2 weeks into his 4-week pre training and looks the goods. Growing strong, taller and coping well with his work. Following his trial win at Rosehill last preparation we look forward to him making his race track appearance in due course.

Allapercanto (Swifty)  - Inglis 2yo Filly - Trained by Team Hawkes, Rosehill

This big strong girl has adjusted to stable life in tremendous order. Now stepping up her work she will be aiming to trial in approx. 2.5 weeks at Rosehill. If she goes half as well as her Netball owners, she will be kicking many goals

Snitzel x Savannah River- MM 1yo Filly - Trained by Team Hawkes, Rosehill

Snitty, hopefully to be named Lady Savannah after voting process (Docs with Racing Australia) has completed her education / orientation period at Rosehill.  She handled the process with flying colours and is now back down at the farm for a well-deserved rest. She will go through the same process moving forward (spell, pre training and trip to Rosehill or Melbourne) and looks like a potential early type but as always will not be pushed any further that she wants too

Mrs Bigglesworth 3yo filly Trained by Jake Hull (small Equicom ownership group)

Mrs B has successfully broken her maiden in impressive style at Dubbo. She will likely be racing at Port Macquarie on Sunday if there are a few scratching's to bring her barrier in from 10. A very speedy filly that like LB has flourished in the country life with Jake.

Thanks again to our devoted and attentive team of trainers and pre trainers (Farm) that give our horses every opportunity to succeed.

Snitzel x Savannah River 2021 Filly

Any questions, please do not hesitate to contact me.

Despite selecting her predominantly on type (physique) her page speaks for itself. Please see below an independent analysis of her pedigree.

Finding a catalogue page with a more potent and proven mix of the best Australasian bloodlines than the Snitzel – Savannah River filly would be a task. While the star on the page is undoubtedly New Zealand’s Champion Sire both on the track and in the sale ring, Savabeel, Savannah River brings unquestionable speed to the family as a daughter of Encosta De Lago whose sire line has produced the likes of Northern Meteor, Zoustar, Yes Yes Yes, Deep Field and current star Jacquinot. Savannah River showed her liking for a short course when winning over 1100 metres at Warwick Farm. Interestingly this cross of Snitzel over Encosta De Lago has produced Invader, Summer Passage and Sword Of State, all Group 1 winning two-year-olds.

The filly’s grandam Savannah Success won the prestigious New Zealand Bloodstock Filly of the Year award for consistent excellence as a three-year-old, a season highlighted by wins in the Group 1 New Zealand Oaks at Trentham, and the Group 1 Storm Queen Stakes at Rosehill. She went on to produce nine individual winners headed of course by Savabeel, a son of Zabeel, a grandson of the great Sir Tristram and a rare winner of the Group 1 W S Cox Plate as a three-year-old. The Cox Plate is recognised as Australasia’s weight-for-age championship and it takes a very special three-year-old to win it.

Savabeel has picked up the baton from his sire and grandsire to be the most influential stallion in New Zealand of his time and getting access to his blood at reasonable cost is becoming more and more difficult. Amongst Savannah Success’ other winners is Arlington a five-time winner who went to stud off the back of his third in the Group 1 Randwick Guineas.

I have no doubt the majority of the stamina back in the family comes through Semipalatinsk, a noted staying influence. He is the sire of your filly’s third dam Alma Mater, winner of the Group 3 Adrian Knox Stakes at Randwick over 2000 metres. Alma Mater is also notable as the grandam of West Australian warrior and six-time Group 1 winner Black Heart Bart. Although Semipalatinsk is American bred, his sire linage goes back to Star Kingdom, the great breed shaping stallion in post-war Australia.

This pedigree provides a wonderful mix crossing the speed of four-time Champion sire Snitzel with the influence of Encosta De Lago, as mentioned already a cross that has produced three Group 1 winners, but is then enhanced by adding the stamina of Zabeel, Sir Tristram and Semipalatinsk. While sprinting would most likely be her forte, it would be no surprise to see her ancestry kick in and she gets over a mile or further.

As you are aware but I have to say it, horse ownership is a high-risk industry, despite all the care in the world offered by our diligent team. Please also consider your personal circumstances.

Bish

FEB 2023

Good afternoon Equicom owners and friends,

With the Autumn carnival fast approaching we are looking forward to seeing many of our stable approaching the races very soon. In fact, we have 4 out of 8 trialling on Monday at Rosehill. Furthermore 2 that are currently racing, Paballo and Crazy Russian. However you will note a change in trainer for Paballo.

Finally, I have received sign off from Racing NSW for the PDS pertaining to Snitzel x Savannah River, please see attached document. For those who are committed or thinking of joining the ownership ranks I will send through the simple steps to ownership shortly.

NOTE: - I am still not selling her to the general public, so as to give current owners time to see how their current horses perform given many are just starting out.

Remember - NO commission, NO admin fees and NO 5% Equicom win bonus, just real costs only. I hope existing owners will soon be in a position to take advantage of this offer

Brief Horse Updates: Further to regular, individual owner WhatsApp messages.

Ruby Kisses MM 4yo filly  trained by Gerald and Stirling, Rosehill

Flying Crazy Inglis 4yo gelding  trained by Gerald and Stirling, Rosehill

Trial , 9.20am on Monday 13th Feb @ Rosehill - Refresher trial before making his reappearance at the track, possibly as soon as next Saturday at Rosehill.

Crazy Russian, Inglis 3yo Colt ‍️trained by Gerald and Stirling, Rosehill

2 races into his preparation with a great start to his career. First up 2nd at Goulburn and a long neck 4th in a close finish at Kembla. Back to Kembla in 2 weeks to set the record straight  Currently improving every start and we hope for that to continue.

Paballo - 3yo Gelding -  trained by James Moore, QLD

Due to PABS slightly disappointing start to his career it has been decided by trainer and owners to relocate to the Sunshine Coast with James Moore. There we hope to see him settle better in the more relaxed environment as he does get quite anxious. This we expect also to aid him in learning his trade better and learn to pin his ears back. The change of trainer has been an amicable one all around and we look forward to James and his team joining the Equicom training ranks.

Lady Brulee, MM 3yo filly -  trained by Lee and Cherie Curtis - Rosehill

LB has had a 2-week set back with grade 2 Ulcers that are currently being treated. We expect this to hamper her lead up to a trial by approx. 2 weeks. Hopefully Rosehill on 27th Feb will see her first trial.

JAN 2023

2022 proved to be a very interesting year with markets on the move and prizemoney getting ever higher all on the back of the Covid hangover. Go figure

HIGHLIGHTS:

  • Loyal owners that stood by their horses through thick and thin. Especially to Lady Brulee owners that were given a real scare with a horrendous reaction to medication. Each owner supported her and stood by her in her time of need

  • Owners' brilliant attendance at the several open days at the stables and farm, as well as race days

  • First Metro win for Ruby at Canterbury

  • 3 listed races for Flying Crazy in 3 different States/Territories and his loyal supporters (party animals)

It would be amiss of me not to thank the 3rd parties that make it all come together, Trainers, Breaker/Spellers, and VETS etc. Without the continuous focus on our horses, we would be lost amongst the 1000's of horses out there and not being able to reach their full potential.

I thoroughly love the role that i have and look forward to maintaining and developing further to best service the owners to the highest level. Not every horse will be a champion but if you can get integrity, honesty and truthful communication every chance will be given to succeed.

Now, nearly 4 years in operation we have finally got to our 8 horses under syndication (methodical selection process) and as a result the admin fees will remain at $5 per week for the foreseeable future, as they have been since day 1.

This has only been made possible by owner's support in promoting from within (no advertising costs etc) to their family and friends, hence allowing me to offer our final addition, Snitzel filly (purchased last week at MM) without any commission (purely cost price). Further details to follow.

2022 Horses in review:

Princess Zeddy:

3 races (1 placing) before being sold (March) to a country stable. Currently spelling but under the good care of Fleur Blanch at Grafton.

Career with us 15: 1 win, 3 placings.

Casan Geal:

Also, before being sold (Feb) to a country stable his career with us: 4 races (1 win, 1 4th).Currently spelling but under the good care of Stephen Jones at Scone.

Both horses were given every opportunity however not up to provincial or city class, so much better suited for everyone that they are where they are now. Thus, giving owners the opportunity to look at other options moving forward.

Ruby Kisses:

10 races this year, culminating in a metropolitan win at Canterbury and backing it up with 4 other placings (3 at Canterbury and 1 at Hawkesbury). In addition, gained more prizemoney from the MM women's bonus.

Overall career: 21 starts 3: 4: 3 Total Prizemoney $361,731

Currently in training and possibly trial on 29th Jan at Rosehill.

Flying Crazy:

12 races this year, 4 wins (3 listed, Canberra Guineas, Daybreak Lover and Luskin Star) and backed it up with a 3rd in Goulburn Cup and 4th in Group 3.

Overall career: 16 starts 5: 0: 3 Total Prizemoney $352,215

Currently in training and set to trial in approx. 3 weeks.

Paballo:

Had 2 educational starts at Hawkesbury in 2022 and back racing now. Looking forward to him showing us what we know he is capable of.

The remainder of the stable (unraced):

Crazy Russian: Russian Revolution Gelding, 3yo, after 3 trials is set to have his first race start on Monday at Goulburn.

Lady Brulee: Zoustar filly, 3yo, jumping out on the track again this Tuesday before trialling soon after.

Altair I Am: I Am Invincible colt, 2yo, jumping out this Tuesday again before heading to the trials.

ALLAPERCANTO: Per Incanto filly, 2yo, aka Swifty, in training and set to jump out at home in the coming weeks.

Snitzel x Savannah River 1yo - spelling and will be broken in around 3 weeks' time.

It's all happening now

Looking forward to what 2023 brings and wish you all and your families the best of years.

Bish

Brief Horse Updates: Further to regular, individual owner WhatsApp messages.

Ruby Kisses MM 4yo filly  trained by Gerald and Stirling, Rosehill

Ruby is nominating for Rosehill next Wednesday in a 1300m, Fillies and Mares race. She has shown her usual tenacity in this preparation with mid-week metro placings in her last 2 starts. After this next race we will review further the plan for her to attempt to race in the MM Qld carnival in the new "Syndicate" race for horses with over 20 registered owners. Good luck owners.

Crazy Russian, Inglis 3yo Colt ‍️trained by Gerald and Stirling, Rosehill

This boy can't seem to win a trick at the moment, on the cusp of making a trial in the coming weeks he has spiked a temperature the last 2 days. The team are monitoring him closely and a decision imminent as to whether he needs a brief rest or can persevere within the stables. Hes a horse with untapped ability so far and every precaution will be taken to ensure longevity in his career.

Flying Crazy Inglis 4yo gelding  trained by Gerald and Stirling, Rosehill

The big boy has arrived at the Gold Coast in readiness for his attempt at taking out the "Weetwood" listed race at Toowoomba this Saturday. Brad Stewart has been booked for the ride who rode him in a previous win in Qld in the "Day Break Lover" at Eagle farm.

Following his previous successful preparation his target race is the Golden Eagle and the team believe this is the best first up race for him given the inclement weather around NSW again.....

Again Good luck to owners and his army of supporters

Lady Brulee, MM 3yo filly -  trained by Lee and Cherie Curtis - Rosehill

Well this little lady has given us all a scare over the past 2 weeks... Team Curtis identified that she had an issue with her throat after picking up a cough coming off the track. After a scope that same morning she was identified as having Epiglottis Entrapment and an ulcer. Treatment was immediately administered and sent back to the farm for recovery (no surgery required). Within 12 hours she developed a Severe case of diarrhoea, resulting in extreme dehydration. Will Forrester immediately on VETS advice put her in his float and too her to the REC medical hospital. From there she was put on a drip and monitored 24 hrs, it was touch and go for a while..... (full report attached for your perusal).

Fortunately I am pleased to advise that she is now back at the farm and making progress. Her body and mannerisms will determine as to when she will be right to train again. Thank you to ALL the owners that were supportive and caring during this challenging time. Plus the quick actions of both Team Curtis and Will Forrester as without these attentive actions it could easily have been a different story.

Altair I AM - MM 2yo Colt  trained by Gerald and Stirling, Rosehill

Our youngest member of the team has been exceeding expectations in this his first experience at the Rosehill stables. As with all 2yo it is a day by day proposition but so far he is meeting the challenges and learning daily. His recent gallops have seen a great fluency to his action and a maturity beyond his years. Quite how far he will get in this preparation is yet to be seen but so far so good.

Paballo - 3yo Gelding -  trained by Gerald and Stirling, Rosehill

Pabs, who I visited yesterday is looking good for a return to pretraining in approx. 3 weeks. He is furnishing well and maintaining a good level of maturity whilst benefitting from time in the paddock.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Thanks again to our devoted and attentive team of trainers and pre trainers (Farm) that give our horses every opportunity to succeed.

Just a quick reminder that if you see a horse racing that you are not in the ownership of and would like to come out and support, please contact me direct and I will organise tickets for you (subject to availability). It's the more the merrier

I am off on my journey to Toowoomba today so may be out of range for a while, however I will naturally keep you up to date with your horse during this time with the aid of the teams around us.

Have a great weekend and PH today.
